Sean makes me want to reevaluate Duran Duran. One week of dedicated listening against the random pieces and sediments in various parts of my brain. My strongest Duran Duran memory is watching the sickening Wild Boys video clip on italian music tv around 1985, but there's also some faded but great first teenage party memories I associate with "Rio" and "Hungry like the Wolf". And I hear the "Sing Blue Silver" line each time I read it, although I don't recall the rest of the song.

So it's time to fire up Napster again - the first time since it got the copyright filter. The search for Duran Duran/Rio yields exactly nothing. So I just fill in the artist field and leave the title blank and there they are - "Reo", "Hungary like the Wolf" and "The Chauffer" 8-) Creative spelling is subversive!

Unfortunately Makotter borrowed my computer-to-stereo cable for today's EuroBrunch, and my iBook's internal speaker went mute the last time I surfed from the bath tub.

Viele Leute haben auf ihrem Weblog irgendwo seitlich stehen welches Buch sie gerade lesen oder welche Musik sie gerade hören. Aber was gerade bei einem in der Glotze läuft habe ich noch nirgends gesehen. Bei mir zum Beispiel eine Dokumentation über Hyänen auf Vox. Solche Informationsflüsse zu automatisieren wäre ein guter Grund, Haushaltsgeräten einen Netzanschlüssen zu verpassen. Andere potentiell interessante und automatisierbare Informationen: Welche Farbe hat der Himmel draussen? Wann habe ich das letzte mal die Zähne geputzt? (Erfordert elektrische Zahnbürste.)

... oder gar ganze sequenzen der benützung elektrischer geräte usw. wiedergeben lassen. gelegenheit für minidramen: 8:45 kaffeemaschine eingeschalten. 8:47 bügeleisen angestellt. 8:55 elektrische zahnbürste betätigt. 9:05 wohnungstür fällt zu. 9:20 brandmelderauslösung und automatische meldung an feuerwehr. 9:30 systemausfall.
